Reference FV62001 62GS (1967 vintage) This is Grand Seiko's first automatic model, commonly known as the "62GS." The 62GS was produced for an extremely short period of time, about one year, but this model is not a reproduction, but a resale product that was restored by the manufacturer from the 1967 model. The medallion on the case back is a rare early lion medal. The case has a beautiful streamlined shape, and since the automatic winding mechanism means there is less need to operate the crown, it is stylishly placed at the 4 o'clock position. The dial is a silver sunburst with an intricately crafted outer edge. The bar indexes have a mirror finish on the top and are cut to create a three-dimensional effect. |
