Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Skeleton
This is an extra-thin perpetual calendar from one generation before the current collection, but it is a particularly rare skeleton model.
Royal Oak was born in 1972 as a luxury sports pioneer.
Cal.1978/4, which was born in 2120 as the world's first movement with a diameter of only 2802 mm, is a masterpiece that truly inherits the Royal Oak DNA and should be preserved for future generations.
This model follows the company's Genesis self-winding perpetual calendar, and was produced until around 2014.
The fact that it has been in production for 35 years means that the movement is highly stable and has a high degree of perfection.
The case diameter of the current perpetual calendar is 41mm, while the case diameter is 2mm, which is 39mm smaller, but the total number of parts is larger compared to a model with only a timekeeping function.
The essence of AP is the pinnacle of technology that allows the assembly of the movement that controls all calendar mechanisms for the year, month, day of the week, date, and moon phase to be housed within this small diameter case.
Furthermore, it is a special specification that eliminates the dial and allows you to enjoy the mechanical structure not only on the sapphire crystal back but also on the front side that can be seen even when worn.
This is a completely different level of technology from models with dials, and requires a design that is appealing, so not only is the technology required, but the production period for each unit is also long. There were also very few.
